What We Do… and What’s Unacceptable
For The Family advocates on behalf of the vulnerable to manifest the Golden Rule and be our brother’s keeper. We strengthen vulnerable families to build a stronger community.
However, our services are not a cure-all by any means. They represent our sincere effort to enable people to offer and receive a maximum degree of assistance and/or attention in a safe and convenient way, with integrity, and with minimal liability to all. The best way to fulfill our moral commitment (and allow others to fulfill their own) is to clearly state the following in no uncertain terms:
For The Family, Inc., its Agency Partners, and its referral sources assume absolutely no stated or implied liability for actions or outcomes that either directly or indirectly derive from the discharge of agency services. All participants do so of their own volition, and we strongly urge those with reservations to withdraw from these services and immediately seek suitable alternatives where applicable.
This same protection also specifically applies to Mentors and Associates in the Family Referral Network (e.g. the Motherhood and Parental Mentoring Initiatives) as long as they adhere to the procedures required to participate in these programs. All participants are made aware of these procedures prior to their involvement. However, their protection is abrogated if these individuals violate the law or commit transgressions that are outside the procedural scope of their involvement in For The Family, Inc. These include (but are not limited to) inappropriate sexual conduct, physical intimidation, unethical behavior, or any other action inconsistent with our mentoring services.
Should this be the case, For The Family, Inc., its Agency Partners, and its referral sources assume absolutely no stated or implied liability for any and all resulting actions or outcomes.
Meanwhile, the efforts of our Family Town Hall Series to build community awareness about the human and societal cost of inadequate community services for vulnerable families and the agencies that serve them are undertaken in good faith and with all reasonable diligence.
All Series participants do so of their own volition. We assume that their accounts are accurate and provided in good faith, but cannot independently verify these accounts because of statutory confidentiality. As such, For The Family, Inc., its Series Partners, and others who assist in facilitating Series Forums assume absolutely no stated or implied liability for actions or outcomes that either directly or indirectly derive from activities related to the Series as a whole or arising from individual Forums. This specifically includes the veracity of statements made by Series participants.
