Leadership For The Family

For The Family is a federally chartered 501(c)3 NGO that is incorporated in the
State of Florida.  Our activities are coordinated and overseen by an Administrator,
and reinforced by a diverse Board of Directors.  Our ability to spread Kindness of
the Heart is strengthened by knowing that the spirit of caring about others reigns

Mr. W. Ward Cox

Mr. W. Ward Cox

Administrator, For The Family, Inc.

Mr. Cox established For The Family in 1998. He created and implemented the Family Referral Network (1998) and the Family Town Hall Series (2013).  His 25 years of non-profit experience involve developing and supervising community services, public awareness efforts, and special events.  Mr. Cox has also earned national acclaim as a broadcast journalist, as well as in advertising, marketing, public relations, writing, and broadcast production.

Ms. Linda Bingham

Faith-Based Liaison and Parental Mentor

A Board Member since 2013, Ms. Bingham mentored parents in the Family 
Referral Network from 1999 – 2020.  Her professional training as a physician and 
teacher also brings an important dimension to Kindness of the Heart.  However, 
she is most proud of having endured domestic violence and a disabling illness to 
successfully raise three children that she also home-schooled as a single parent. 

Ms. Lisa Cassin

Chief Operating Officer, Travel Resorts of America

A Board Member since 2020, Ms. Cassin brings strong leadership and financial
management skills to our agency. Her ability to build consensus that turns abstract
objectives into productive action is especially beneficial.

Mr. Jeffrey Harris

Senior Technical Support Engineer, Owens and Minor

A Board Member since 2021, Mr. Harris has implemented creative solutions for
five Fortune 500 companies over a 30-year career. His prior community outreach
focused on restoring hope to prison inmates and nursing home residents, and his
ideas have proven valuable as our agency has progressed.

Mr. Mark Proctor

President, MPA Consulting

A Board Member since the agency’s inception in 1998 and Chairman since 2015, 
Mr. Proctor is a corporate and government affairs consultant for a wide variety of 
clients.  He was elected to the Hillsborough County Soil and Water Conservation 
Board in 2014, and is now Chairman.  He also operates a real estate business and is 
a past President of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce and Brandon Kiwanis 
Club.  Mr. Proctor also served on the Tampa Sports Authority. 

Ms. Kimberly Russell

Personal Wellness Officer – Mezrah Consulting

A Board Member since 2023, Ms. Russell combines HR expertise with an
impressive background in behavioral psychology to systematically improve
employee morale and mental health. Her analytical skill and insight are important
in spreading Kindness of the Heart, and her enthusiasm is highly motivational.

Ms. Denise Schultz

Senior Vice President; Project Management – Citi Bank

A Board Member since 2021, Ms. Schultz has provided leadership in a broad range
of fiscal disciplines for more than a quarter century. Her perspective is helping our
agency to successfully navigate the operational and logistical challenges that
accompany the rapid growth of Kindness of the Heart.

Mr. Gil Singer, Esq.

Partner, Marcadis Singer P.A.

A Board Member since the agency’s inception in 1998, Mr. Singer combines a 
strong legal background with a heightened sense of community service.  He was 
named Pro-Bono Attorney of the Year by the Hillsborough County Bar Association 
and is a past President of the Tampa Kiwanis Club. 

Ms. Suzzanne Sullivan

District Coordinator – AARP

A Board Member since 2022, Ms. Sullivan blends her managerial experience in
health care and payroll analysis with the professional resourcefulness that comes
from its application in a nonprofit context. This combination offers a distinctive
point of view that favorably impacts our agency and Kindness of the Heart.

Ms. Shani Young

Director of Mental Health First Aid – Directions for Living

A Board Member since 2021, Ms. Young has applied her expertise in Psychology
and Counselor Education to manage mental health professionals and create
treatment strategies related to domestic violence, child welfare, and substance
abuse. Her efforts on behalf of Kindness of the Heart further enhance its
international presence.
