What do we do?
Kindness of the Heart Celebrates the POSITIVE– See How
Honoring Personal Kindness
Worthy people are nominated in smartphone videos e-mailed to KindnessOfSpirit@gmail.com. Each one describes how they’re inspirational.
Family Flame Awards are presented at the International FAM Awards in fourteen categories that honor family members (Parent, Spouse, etc.) as well as Praise and Gratitude, Random Acts of Kindness, Kindness in Adversity, Kindness to and from Animals, Volunteers, and more.
The International FAM Awards take place as Thanksgiving nears in the US.
Honoring Organizational Kindness
Worthy organizations are identified through video nominations and detailed research that each satisfy the judging criteria established by For The Family. They receive an Excellence In Service Award that includes a professionally produced video and media recognition to honor their achievement. Each Award is presented at the International FAM Awards.
An especially compelling example can also earn a Family Flame Award in the Kind Initiatives and Programs category.

Family Referral Network
mentoring turned parental challenges into solutions
- Our adult mentoring services began in 1998 and are the first of their kind
- These address life challenges before they get out of hand
- The Parental Mentoring Initiative is for parents of at-risk youth ages 11-17
- The Motherhood Mentoring Initiative is for parents of children ages 0-8
- More than two decades of positive outcomes verify their effectiveness
- Parents gained from the real life insight of compatible Mentors in weekly, ongoing telephone dialogues. They only knew one another by first name
- Our confidential dialogues kept circumstantial dilemmas from worsening into a crisis that would seriously damage parents, children, and families
- Hundreds of Mentors volunteered to share their wisdom. As many as 108 were enrolled at a time
- Unfortunately, insufficient resources have prompted a temporary hiatus
OUR ADULT MENTORING SERVICES HELPED PARENTS SOLVE LIFE’S CHALLENGES BEFORE THEY BECOME A CRISIS
Parental Mentoring Initiative
Parents of youth ages 11-17 who either have committed a nonviolent, 1st time juvenile offense, or are at risk of doing so
Motherhood Mentoring Initiative
